Check Out Jason Segel as David Foster Wallace in “The End of the Tour”

Sundance has been squeezing out an unbelievable layer of cinematic frosting this year, and it just keeps getting more delicious. One of the more anticipated and somewhat controversial projects doing the rounds is The End of the Tour, a movie adaptation of interviews between journalist David Lipsky and novelist David Foster Wallace.

The interviews were then compiled into the book Although of Course you End Up Becoming Yourself: A Road Trip. For those unfamiliar with Wallace, he could very easily described as a legend in his own time. The interviews Lipsky did with Wallace took place not long after the publishing of Infinite Jest, Wallace’s most widely known and lauded tome. But this isn’t an article about Wallace’s work, it’s about a trailer for the adaptation.

The adaptation stars Jason Segel in a surprising role as Wallace and Jesse Eisenberg as Lipsky. Check it out, courtesy of Deadline:

I have to say I’m pretty excited about this movie. It’s directed James Ponsoldt who helped The Spectacular Now, and more than anything this looks to be a perfectly aimed catapult for Segel to get the actor in a more serious trajectory on which  he could so clearly thrive. Expect The End of the Tour in theatres in July 31st.

Choose Your Side: “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” Teaser

What could be more exciting than finding out that the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer will hit theatres on May 20th? How about a sneaky teaser of the trailer to wet your beak? Yes, yes I thought you’d like that. In the followup to the highly anticipated Star Wars celebration which will see the release of a new trailer and poster for Force Awakens, Zack Snyder revealed that a short aperitif to the Batman v Superman trailer would appear an hour beforehand.

Slashfilm has reported that the teaser has gotten the full treatment, with limited seating Imax screenings and all the hype of a full length trailer. Warranted? Maybe, check out the trailer and see for yourself, courtesy of Youtube:

Consider your beak wetted! The main brunt of the tease is that we get a solid look at the costumes for bats and supes. We already had an idea of what these were going to look like, but it’s certainly a treat to see the dark knight’s cape and cowl up close.Ok, so it would have been nice to see Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill sporting their respective outfits, but that’s not what this trailer is for. It’s an exercise in tone as opposed to action, which makes sense at this point in the game with a trailer coming less than a week away. Still, a Pow! or two would have been nice.

Due in theatres March 26th 2016, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill,Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Jesse Eisenberg, Diane Lane, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter, Scoot McNairy, and Jason Momoa.

What did you think of the tease?
