High-Rise trailer: Hiddleston Ascends into Madness

Tom Hiddleston’s sanity and British politeness are pushed to the limit in the JG Ballard novel adaptation. Watch the High-Rise trailer below.

We still have a whole to wait before we see Tom Hiddleston don his stenston for the Hank Williams biopic I Saw the Light. Fortunately we have another Hiddleston project to keep us busy this summer. No, not Captain America: Civil War. It’s Ben Wheatley’s High-Rise, and we just so happens to have a High-Rise trailer, courtesy of Collider.com.

We’ve known about the adaptation of JG Ballard‘s acclaimed Sci-fi novel for some time now, but this is our first look at some proper footage. Hiddleston plays reclusive doctor Robert Laing, who’s sought out anonymity in an impossibly enormous High-rise. All his needs are met by the services and facilities within the building, but all is not well as the classes start to clash.

Luke Evans also appears in the High-Rise trailer as a lower-level apartment owner who’s had enough of the richer upper floor crowd living the high life (contains no trace of puns). Also starring is The League of Gentlemen‘s Reece Shearsmith as a tenant who seems all to aware of the emotional turmoil masked by the lavishness of the building. Not to mention Jeremy Irons as the eccentric architect who built the High-rise and knows¬†all its ins and outs.

From the look of High-Rise trailer it seems like the film has no problem holding on to the seventies setting of the novel. Even so, there looks to be all manner of weird and wonderful fashions in the building, so it’ll be a lot of fun seeing those aesthetics hash it out. It goes without saying that this should be a top pick for British cinema this year.

High-Rise hits theatres March 17th. Watch this space for all the latest High-Rise movie news.

“Batman v Superman” Will Get the Kryptonite Treatment!

If there’s a binary of the Incredible Hulk in the DC Universe, it is without a doubt the badass element kryptonite. Why? Because it’s green, it doesn’t say much and it makes some of the strongest heroes look like jittery wimps of the highest calibre. What? Solomon Grundy? No, shut up, it’s kryptonite. Anyway, when will we get a chance to see the DC Hulk in action? A lot sooner than you think, if the reporters that be are to be believed. Choose Your Side: “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” Teaser

What could be more exciting than finding out that the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice¬†trailer will hit theatres on May 20th? How about a sneaky teaser of the trailer to wet your beak? Yes, yes I thought you’d like that. In the followup to the highly anticipated Star Wars celebration which will see the release of a new trailer and poster for Force Awakens, Zack Snyder revealed that a short aperitif to the Batman v Superman trailer would appear an hour beforehand.

Slashfilm has reported that the teaser has gotten the full treatment, with limited seating Imax screenings and all the hype of a full length trailer. Warranted? Maybe, check out the trailer and see for yourself, courtesy of Youtube:

Consider your beak wetted! The main brunt of the tease is that we get a solid look at the costumes for bats and supes. We already had an idea of what these were going to look like, but it’s certainly a treat to see the dark knight’s cape and cowl up close.Ok, so it would have been nice to see Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill sporting their respective outfits, but that’s not what this trailer is for. It’s an exercise in tone as opposed to action, which makes sense at this point in the game with a trailer coming less than a week away. Still, a Pow! or two would have been nice.

Due in theatres March 26th 2016, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill,Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Jesse Eisenberg, Diane Lane, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter, Scoot McNairy, and Jason Momoa.

What did you think of the tease?
