It’s all coming out now folks! Anyone who saw the teaser trailer for Tomorrowland: A World Beyond and got that special chill down their spine is about to do a whole lot of shivering. Seriously, put any hot liquids down I don’t want you hurting yourself.
A full length trailer has finally been released for the Sci-fi adventure project that has kept everybody guessing for the last few months. After a cool teaser and a set of stunning artwork, a trailer is the welcomed next step in what I would call a superbly slow boiling pot of PR. Now lets see if we can get some motherlovin’ plot points out of this thing! This trailer comes courtesy of Empire and Disney UK:
Now that was a stunning piece of trailer. There whole dose of funderful action – due in no small part to director Brad Bird’s experience working on both The Incredibles and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol – and a stroke of seriousness that’s hard to pull off, especially when it comes to Disney. Also, I don’t know about you, there is something Bioshock-esque about the plot and technology in that futuristic town of great thinkers and inventors that made me go all gooey inside.
The film stars Britt Robertson as a young girl hell-bent on finding Tomorrowland, and George Clooney as the reclusive inventor who leads the way. Also in the mix is Hugh Laurie in a mysterious role of David Nix.
I hope we get to see a lot more of this project before its May 22 release. I mean I could wait, but where’s the fun in that?
If you’re anything like us, you got a serious vibe from the teaser trailer for Tomorrowland late last year. Since then, we’ve been keeping an ear out for any new bits and pieces that might be coming out about the upcoming Disney project. Unfortunately there’s been very little to get excited about…until now! The official Tomorrowland site has released some official images from the its namesake. The film, starring Britt Robertson and George Clooney tells the story of an ambitious young girl and a boy-genius-turned-curmudgeon as they go in search of a fantastical place in their collective memory. Well now we get to have a look at what that fantastical place may look like – and from the looks of it, Tomorrowland will definitely live up to its name, if not its hype. Have a look, fresh from TakeMeToTomorrowland.com:
If we needed any confirmation of the allegedly stunning sci-fi agenda of the movie, this is definitely it. It appears to be a very dense and intricate world, a veritable Dexter’s Lab of interconnecting channels and charmingly bad-ass technology. But there’s still no obvious explanation of what, where or when Tomorrowland exists. Is this an abandoned dominion or does it exist on some sort of psychic plane?Ah I don’t know, I’m just spouting nonsense. Oh, maybe it’s the future and everyone’s died off and- sorry, sorry. Still, it’s pretty cool.
There are definitely some influences in these images from Brad Bird’s earlier film The Incredibles and the quasi-futuristic worlds he developed therein. Hopefully there’ll be some more explanation of what the hell is going on in the months to come. Cause I’ll be damned if I’m going to wait until a film comes out to know what happens in it!
