Kate Hudson, J.K. Simmons and Bryan Cranston join Jack Black’s Po in the Kung Fu Panda 3 trailer.
It’s seems like only yesterday that a rotund Panda voiced by Jack Black stole our hearts in Kung Fu Panda. That was actually nearly 8 years ago! The sequel was nearly 5 years ago! Since then, it’s become one of the cornerstones of the Pixar canon. Needless to say, we’ve been waiting a while for the latest instalment. That wait has now come to an end (nearly) with the release of the Kung Fu Panda 3 trailer. But can the third chapter live up to the cherished memories we all have of the Pixar franchise? There’s only one way to find out. Check out the Kung Fu Panda 3 trailer, courtesy of Slashfilm.
The last Kung Fu Panda film saw Po the panda unaware that he has a amily living in a disant panda village. From the looks of the Kung Fu Panda 3 trailer the third film will pick up right where Kung Fu Panda 2 left off. Po gets a crash course in how to be a true panda from his dad, voiced by Bryan Cranston. But all the fun stops wth the arrival of Kai (J.K. Simmons), an ancient and evil being. The fun doesn’t really stop since Kai seems to have a few gags of his own. So what’s left to do except train an amateur army of…you guessed it…Kung Fu Pandas.
The Kung Fu Panda 3 trailer is a little heavy at 2:30. You get a quick tour through most of the plot points so there won’t be that many secrets when you get to the theatre. In spite of that, Kung Fu Panda 3 looks like it hasn’t lost the sense of fun that runs through the whole franchise. Hopefully it won’t fall short on the emotional story-lines, which is where the previous two films have really shone.
Kung Fu Panda 3 has a returning cast of Jack Black, David Cross, Lucy Liu, Angelina Jolie, Seth Rogen and Dustin Hoffman, with Kate Hudson joining the new recruits as female panda Mei Mei.
Kung Fu Panda 3 will hit theatres January 29th 2016. Watch this space for all the latest Kung Fu Panda 3 movie news.
