Rogue One Final Trailer

Final Rogue One Trailer: Here there be AT-ST’s

The final trailer for Gareth Edward’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits the internet. But have they managed to keep the mystique? Read more after the jump.

Two months. We’ve got two months until Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters. There’s a lot riding on this. The first mainstream Star Wars movie that doesn’t follow the Skywalker saga. How will people react to it. Audiences have eaten up the early trailers and promos. But talk of reshoots and grittiness has got more than a few people worried about the finished product. There’s no doubt in anyone’s mind that Rogue One will be spectacle of galactic proportions. But how will it measure up to Force Awakens and its insurmountable success? Well incase you’re not sure here’s another trailer to mull over.  Courtesy of Slashfilm.

We get a few extra treats with this trailer that we didn’t get before. Some new shots of Mads Mikkelsen as Galen Erso with his estranged daughter Jyn as a nipper. Fully grown Jyn played by Felicity Jones, stuck in a Stormtrooper-guarded jail. This is also the first time we’re seeing some AT-ST walkers since Return of the Jedi. Not only that, they’re now engaging in cramped city shootouts. That’s just one example of some of the lavish environments we’re gonna get to see in this movie.

This trailer also has some new shots of Darth Vader – the only known Skywalker making an appearance.

Vader was rumoured early on to be playing some role in Rogue One. This amde sense since the movie would be picking up literally minutes before A New Hope begins. It’s still not clear how big a role he’ll have in the movie – but it’ll just be nice to see him. The exciting thing is that there’s going to be so much more going on in this movie that Vader being in it isn’t the biggest deal.

So that’s the end of the Rogue One trailers. Like with Force Awakens they’ve managed to keep a decent amount of the plot under wraps. Let’s just hope the standalone Star Wars story is worth the wait.

Gareth Edwards’ Rogue One: A Star Wars Story lands in theaters December 16th 2016. Watch this space for all the latest Rogue One movie news.
