Brand New Set Photos and Promos for “X-Men: Apocalypse”

Ok people we’re moving on! Get rid of your Age of Ultron calendar and your fan made post credits sequences and your bespoke Legos battle scenes. Avengers is out, so let’s get real for a moment. Let’s talk X-Men: Apocalypse. Not a beat after Age of Ultron finished premiering, Fox made damn sure to get the shared target audience’s attention with some sneaky looks at the cast of the latest Mutant escapade. For starters, they released some fancy presentable head shots of Codi Smit-Mcphee as the true blue teleporter Nightcrawler. Check out Mcphee’s new look below, courtesy of Screen Rant:

It’s certainly a far cry from the Nightcrawler Alan Cummings portrayed in X-Men 2. Despite the obvious difference that he’s a much younger depiction he also appears to be a lot more clean cut than the abrasion and tattoo-heavy Cummings. There’s something suspiciously Matt Smith era Doctor Who about the hair to face ratio, but along with the striking attire this is most likely a reflection of the 80’s setting. If you needed any more evidence of the, you’d only need to check out the set photos tweeted from ¬†shopping mall in Montreal. Have a look and see who you can spot:

Well it would certainly looks be a task to miss Sophie Turner sporting her bright red bouffant. Alongside her we have Mcphee once again in what appears to be the red leather jacket from Michael Jackson’s Thriller video, as well as Tye Sheridan as cyclops. Sheridan is rocking the Future X-Men leader’s signature ruby sunglasses, matching Turner’s hair almost perfectly. Finally we’ve got Jubilee in the mix, played by Lana Condor. I didn’t anticipate that the settings would be as vibrant as they appear, although this could very well be the kaleidoscopic quiet before a monochromatic shit storm when Apocalypse comes a callin. Speaking of the man himself, there’s unsurprisingly no sign of Oscar Isaac in this 1980’s mall, but that will certainly be coming ¬†soon enough.

There’s a good chance that Fox will respond to these unofficial tweets with images of their own, so keep an eye out for that. Perhaps we’ll also get a look at McAvoy and Fassbender in their latest Mutant incarnations.

What do you think of the new team?
