Batman vs Superman SDCC Trailer – You’re Welcome Forever

Remember how excited everyone got when we heard the first teaser for Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer came out? Remember how you nearly had to throw your undies immediately in the bin next to your desk when you saw the trailer leaked online in Spanish? And then you got to see the real thing the very next day! Remember all that? Well you’re about to flush out of your memory because the full length trailer for Dawn of Justice is here, and it will blow the roof off your soul, folks!

We had an inkling that something like this was going to surface out of San Diego Comic Con. DC and Warner Bros. had a lot of projects to talk about this year, and with the absence of Marvel leaving a Galactus sized hole in the proceedings, they needed something that was going to blow people away. I think they managed it with this nearly-four-minute-long trailer! That’s generous in anyone’s book.

Like any good trailer it clarifies everything we know and offers delicious hints about the things we don’t know but about which we have some sneaking suspicions. Not only did we get solid looks at Ben Affleck‘s distinguished Bruce Wayne/Batman, both in the destruction of the final scene of Man of Steel and on the hunt for Henry Cavill‘s Superman, but also some peaks at Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as a flaxen-haired Lex Luthor, Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Thomas Wayne, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth and kryptonite, playing itself. Throw in a dead General Zod some joker-style graffiti and an empty Robin suit, and what have you got? You’ve got a trailer for the ages.

We’re going to be breaking down the trailer for some tasty nuggets later on, but for now let’s just bask in the glory of the thing intact as it was meant to be seen. But don’t get cocky kid: Zack Snyder promised on the panel that Dawn of Justice is not going to be The Dark Knight Returns. What does that mean? Simple, it means all is not what it seems, and there’ll be a whole lot more surprises in store. Isn’t that just the way we like it?

If you haven’t done it already, stick March 25th 2016 in your diaries for the release of Dawn of Justice. I need to splash some cold water on my consciousness.
